A cozy arrangement of comfortable upholstered pieces encourages gathering for good company in this living room. When it's movie time, built in cabinetry next to the fireplace reveals a pop up TV.

A modern coffee table and chair slipcovered in lime velvet give this formal living room a youthful energy, while yards of neutral-color fabric subtly soften the large windows.

With no architectural features such as a fireplace or built ins as a natural focal point, furniture and artwork create the missing element.
The matching cabinets add height to the boxy room, and the mirrored doors reflect light and space.

Inspired by a family painting showcased over the fireplace, this family room features upholstery in simple neutrals with staying power, while pillows and accessories splash color from the artwork around the room. The casual, relaxed setting fits a young, active family.

While a crisp black and white palette grounds this family room in sophistication, fearless sprinkles of lime green (prompted by painting the back of the built in bookshelves) make the gathering spot fun and inviting. Plump khaki brown armchairs invite comfortable lounging, while traditional details like the fireplace surround and damask print curtains give the room an elegant edge, which creates a space that is designed for both casual and formal gatherings.

Oversize plush chairs resting in a palette of warm wood tones creates this cozy, masculine sitting room that harkens relaxation.

Repeating similar elements at different places throughout a room brings visual unison. In this attractive living room, the prominent weathered wood mirror on the mantel links to a worn coffee table, while woven baskets reflect the sisal floorcovering. Gray built-ins and aubergine-meets-brown chairs add a bit of color to the neutral space.

Arrangement of the sofa and area rug give this seating area its own identity from the kitchen, while a neutral palette across the spaces embraces the open floor plan. Dusty plum pillows and a furry gray pouf give the neutral room a sense of dimension.

Bold red accents add depth and character to the neutral walls and furniture in this living room. A variety of patterns and textures blends effortlessly throughout the space since each piece features the same red hue.

This renovated basement makes excellent use of previously unused living space. Two walls covered with stone add natural texture and hint at the underground location of the room.
Other walls were left white to prevent the space from looking cavelike and cramped.
Neutral furniture also helps keep the space feeling open and inviting.

An open floor plan paves the way for family gatherings in this spacious living area. Creamy whites and natural wood tones unite the living room and adjoining kitchen.
Minimal accessories ensure the space doesnat look cluttered and cramped.

2013 Modern Neutral Living Rooms Decorating Ideas

Modern living room style is all about minimalism and neutrality. Clean lines and simple color schemes are the order of the day for a modern living room. The base colors of the room should all remain neutral, but you can work a few bold, simple colors into accents and accessories. Angular pieces are also standard to the modern  living room style, but round circular pieces may also be found from time to time. Use a

neutral color palette. Modern living room style is fairly minimalist, even down to the color scheme. A base color scheme should consist of neutral colors, including white, beige, and black. This allows the accessories and furnishings to draw the eye more effectively.

Keep things light. Modern living rooms typically have a lot of light flowing in. Large windows that allow sunlight to stream in at an angle are best, but sources of artificial light are just as important. Choose lights that give off a bright, blue white glow instead of bulbs with a yellow white glow.

Uplighting with a dimmer can create mood when entertaining. We used a shag rug and black wood veneer wallpaper as a wainscot for a masculine and swanky look for a swingin' single guy in downtown Denver. Photo by Tim Murphy.

This room, though dramatic on the surface, is very simple and cost effective. The walls are painted in wide stripes, which quickly give the room a lot of interest. The furnishings are straight lined, bordering on modern. The textured rug, highly coordinated accessories, glass desk and great chandelier add the finishing touches.

In the grand salon, the ceilings were improved with artful soffits to create soft curves, which are also reflected in the furnishings and rug. The walls were dressed with an unexpected horizontal staggered line tile and wave panel resin material. A beautiful bar was design and built for entertaining. Two conversation areas were laid out in the grand salon. The sofas are a deep chocolate mohair and paired with classic egg chairs and a custom entertainment console dressed with oversized hardware and ostrich leather.Design Tip: Walls don’t have to be painted or papered. Think about tiles, even in a living room.

Earthy tones combine this open space as living room, dining room and kitchen, giving a cozy ambiance.

The ebonized floors and stark white walls provided the perfect backdrop for furnishings in a palette of warm earth tones and various types of wood. The room was divided into two seating areas, with the primary area containing the sofa, chaise and two club chairs surrounding the SPI LINE Blanco Coffee Table whose nickel plated frame...

To enhance the 11-foot ceiling and the flood of natural light from the large windows in the living area, 8-inch oak molding that surrounded all of the windows was removed, as was the ornamental crown and base molding that existed throughout the apartment. SPI opted to divide the living area from the dining area with large cube towe...

The textural elements of the stone fireplace and shaggy rug, along with hints of apple green, keep this modern space from feeling too sterile.

A cozy family room was created by installing a central chandelier to bring down the height of the ceiling. Additionally, the designer added a sleek shelf around the room for the owner to display his own photographs. Custom iron floor lamps, dramatic drapery and woven shades add texture add warmth to the room. Even though.

The way to get maximum impact from an area rug is to use it as the "soul of your room". The color scheme, furniture placement and accessories should all connect back to it.

Bathroom Decorating Design Ideas 2012 With Neutral Color

With this sets of bathrooms designs with Neutral Color such as crisp white, serene cream, glam gray, and rich brown you can make your bathroom looks clean and calm .
Hopefully you get new ideas to beautify your Bathroom in the house. I hope you like it . Enjoy !

Down to Earth

Go green in neutral tones with bath fixtures and furnishings made from salvaged and renewable materials. Reclaimed wood can be fashioned into a vanity top as seen here, while a rattan stool and stone bath mat are made from renewable resources for soul-soothing natural textures and colors. Stone tile and golden walls add to the spa-like quality of this earthy and earth-friendly bath.

Character Counts

Powder room styles reflect the individual personality of the homeowner in a space small enough to allow for a more daring design than you might want in a larger bathroom. To create architectural character in this small, plain powder room, thin glass tiles in a palette of grays and tans combine for a dramatic backsplash that extends from floor to ceiling. The poured-concrete countertop and sink pick up the color of the medium-tone tiles, while the walls match the lightest ones.

Dark Drama

A high contrast of white porcelain, dark paint, and subtle pattern in the wall makes this bathroom visually appealing. The graphic-pattern hand towels inject more subtle pattern and breaks up the expanse of dark wall. The large mirror keeps light moving throughout the space so the dramatic walls don't overpower the small room.

Grass-cloth Glamour

Chic grass-cloth wallpaper makes an easy and inexpensive upgrade for this small guest bath. The neutral paper makes the room appear larger and can complement any color of towels or bath accessories for a quick change. The narrow gray stone vanity is surrounded by white and gray marble on walls and floor, visually expanding the room. The mirrored wall above the vanity increases the effect of spaciousness by reflecting both light and soft color.

Going Gray

Charcoal-gray upper walls and gray-veined white marble below create a calm, elegant look. Contrasting marble mosaics form a ribbon around the perimeter of the room, adding a decorative focal point. The marble is Asian statuary, not the typical Carrara. The new polished-nickel faucets mimic vintage designs, while the wide sink ledge acts as a mini storage shelf. Substantial frames in crisp white outline medicine cabinets above the pair of sinks. In a small bath, a white console sink -- a two-legged or four-legged unit that's open under the basin -- takes up less space than a typical vanity with cabinetry, leaving room for a pair of metal stools upholstered in nubby white terrycloth.

Gray Haven

Richly grained marble creates an elegant exuberance in this master bath. The beautifully polished Equator Marmara marble tile shimmers in multiple shades of gray in the shower, on the tub surround, and on the floor. The black-and-white animal print stool offers an organic and fluid counterpoint to the rigidly geometric quality of the gray marble. The walls are covered in a silvery paper that brings a metallic sparkle to the room.

Shades of White

Varying tones of white, ivory, and ecru visually combine to make this bath look expansive, belying its narrow dimensions and giving it a spa-like quality. The room's neutral color scheme achieves a sun-kissed radiance thanks to the natural light that flows through two divided-light windows: one in the shower and one above the tub. This light and airy feel translates into a period-style bath that respects the past and serves the needs of the present.

Traditional Styling

With its rich mahogany finish, this storage-packed vanity is the focal point of the master bath. Antiqued brass bin pulls reinforce the vintage feel, while the square white porcelain sinks add a contemporary counterpoint to the vanity's traditional features, including the wall-mount faucets. A pale limestone floor and countertop keep the darkness of vanity and mirror frames in balance, while golden crackle-finish subway tile creates a bright, cheerful backsplash.

Vintage Vibe

In this refurbished 1920s master bath, a contemporary paint palette of warm white and pale gray makes flea market furnishings shine. The sink, plumbed into a vintage dresser, wraps up style and function in a pretty package, while an old apothecary cabinet holds supplies in period style. Beaded-board wainscoting injects subtle white-on-white pattern around the room, while the large woven towel basket provides interesting texture.

Birch Beauty

Birch woods wallpaper in shades of taupe inspired the color palette for this powder room redo. With the new wallpaper, the dark trim and plantation-style shutters on the window needed lightening with a fresh coat of white paint that not only complements the paper but also contrasts with the dark ebony stain on the hardwood floor. The modern vanity, console table, shaded sconces, and brushed-nickel hardware add to the sophisticated upscale look.

Modern Classic

Cottage elements in white and beige give this small bath a charming new look. Formerly clad in pink fixtures and tile, the soft and timeless neutral palette brings the room back to its stylistic roots while remaining modern in its amenities. White-painted tin tiles gives texture and depth to a ceiling once covered in dated popcorn. White subway tile and crisply painted beaded board visually expand the walls and reflect light throughout the space. White fixtures provide tone-on-tone silhouettes in classic forms. Beige tiles grouted in gray mimic brick and add warmth to the floor.

Natural Retreat

This small but storage-rich bathroom boasts an organic feel with a spa-like sensibility. Sage-painted walls provide a soothing backdrop for the space. Small storage niches built in between wall studs stand out in a contrasting wheat color. Chunky bases in deep-grained wood extend the niches out from the wall. Off-white cabinetry and a porthole mirror brighten the overall color scheme, while the countertop, baskets, and brushed-nickel fittings add textural hues.
